Cheese and tea matching at Barossa Valley Cheese Company

Located in the main street of Angaston, step into the Barossa Valley Cheese Company Cheesecellar to sample an amazing range of cheese, condiments and complimentary artisanal products. Take a look inside the maturation room, and watch the cheesemakers workshop on the live TV screen. Taste the finest South Australian cheeses matched with unique teas that will surprise and delight your taste buds.

Cellar door wine tasting

Wine is a way of life in the Barossa, where Australia’s most famous wine region is home to more than 550 grape growing families. With over 150 wineries in the Barossa, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to tasting a wine or two, from inside ultra-modern tasting rooms to quaint stone cottages dating back to the early 1800s.

Penfolds make your own blend 

Penfolds has been in the winemaking industry since 1844 and is today one of the most remarkable and iconic winemakers in the world. Visit Penfolds Barossa Valley Cellar Door and discover the philosophy and spirit behind’s Australia’s greatest wines, just a stone’s throw from the winery where some of the winemakers craft Penfolds wine.

Take your experience to the next level and enter the winemakers’ laboratory to become a master winemaker for yourself and blend your own wine from Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro – just like Penfolds own Bin 138. The resulting blend is then placed into a bottle for you to take away and enjoy over the coming days. Penfolds make your own blend experiences run daily at 10.30am and 2pm. Appointments are required.

Barossa by bike

The Barossa’s network of shared paths, quiet country roads and rolling landscapes make for an enjoyable journey by bike, with something new around every corner. Relax and explore the Barossa Valley at your own pace, pausing regularly for refueling at the huge array of Barossa’s premium food and wine offerings. Bike hire is available from the Barossa Weintal.

Barossa Balloon Adventures

Wake up early and take to the sky on a scenic hot air balloon flight over the Barossa Valley. Be picked up from your hotel and watch the sunrise during the ‘golden hour’ over the valley aboard a 1-hour flight, followed by a gourmet Barossa breakfast. Flights cost $270 for children (aged 10 – 16) and $350 for adults. In-flight photography is available for purchase after the flight.
